Dr Naomi TyrrellBased on 20 years of research and evaluation experience in academic, commercial and public sectors, Dr Naomi Tyrrell founded Research Your Way to offer bespoke research and evaluation services to charities, social enterprises and businesses.
She has led research projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, European Commission, British Academy, Leverhulme Trust, University of Plymouth, charitable trusts and the National Lottery. She is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Plymouth. She has taught qualitative and quantitative research methods in universities in the UK and Ireland for (almost) two decades. She has supervised MA, MSc and PhD student projects using many different research methods. Dr Gina KallisDr Gina Kallis is a social scientist with experience in both academic research and the charity sector. She has worked on a range of projects as an Evaluation Officer for the NSPCC and as Research Fellow at the University of Plymouth. Her research is interdisciplinary and she has explored topics related to: migration and mobility, social perspectives around climate change and sustainable energy transitions, place attachment and family wellbeing.

Dr Olly ClabburnDr Olly Clabburn is social researcher who was awarded his PhD in 2018. Since then, he has gained experience in both the academic and voluntary/community sector. His work includes large-scale research, service evaluations and organisational reviews. Olly is a qualitative researcher who is passionate about projects which focus upon lived experience. As such, his interests lie broadly within the field of health, care, and wellbeing. Some of his previous work includes social worker mental health, food poverty, palliative care, long term illness, family carers and bereavement.

Dr Lauren DempseyLauren Dempsey started her research career as a commercial market researcher but has recently completed a PhD (pending viva) and has been working as a Research Assistant for two universities. In addition, she has experience in conducting client-observed fieldwork and extensive data analysis for research organisations. She is able to adapt herself to the research needs and styles of varied clients, and present findings in a manner that is most beneficial for the given project. She regularly provides quality insights at short notice, while working both in a team and independently. In particular, her expertise lies in longitudinal and ethnographic research, where she celebrates the importance of considering multiple contextual factors to generate cohesive and unique insight.

Dr Ronie WaltersDr Ronie Walters is a mixed methods researcher who is passionate about making information accessible, understandable, and actionable. She has considerable experience in the third sector working with not-for-profit and community organisations to set up and deliver their visions, including being recognised by the Institute of Directors for her work founding a fuel poverty and micro-renewable social enterprise. Recently she has been working with global health literacy researchers on a World Health Organisation initiative aimed at co-producing locally specific health literacy solutions for chronic long-term conditions such as heart disease. With two degrees in psychology, Ronie believes in the power of harnessing individual and organisational knowledge and strengths to overcome challenges. She is fascinated by the challenge of being healthy in our modern society and aims to make a real difference to those facing inequalities by providing research and evaluation expertise to help organisations maximise their impact.

Dr Georgina ColbyDr Georgina Colby is a researcher and academic based in the field of Modern and Contemporary Literature. She has authored two books and has edited three volumes of essays in the field of avant-garde writing, feminisms, and social justice. Her outward-facing work explores the role the Arts and Humanities can play in bringing about positive socio-political change. Externally funded projects Georgina has created and led include the Arts Council funded project Death and the Contemporary, and the British Academy/Leverhulme Trust funded project Feminist Representations: Violence Against Women: Asylum, Voice and Testimony. She is currently writing a book on solidarity and feminist avant-garde writing in the twenty-first century. In addition to her research and academic work, Georgina writes content for socially engaged companies and research-based websites.

Dr Paulina TrevenaDr Paulina Trevena is a social scientist with 18 years of international research experience. Paulina’s main areas of expertise are international migration and public health. She has worked on projects in academia, research institutes, policy organisations and the charity sector and is the author of numerous policy reports, briefings and blogs, academic articles and book chapters. Most recently, she has carried out an expert review for the Scottish Government – an evaluation of service provision for migrant and minority ethnic communities in Scotland during COVID-19. Paulina is passionate about making research accessible and practical – she loves to see her research making a real difference in the world! She is affiliated with the University of Glasgow.
