All Coaching sessions are via Zoom but if you feel that you are spending too much time in front of a screen, I also offer ‘walkie-talkie’ sessions via phone. These are very successful for clients. Research shows being outside increases our creative thinking, which is helpful for breakthroughs when being coached and, as we know, exercise is good for us!
During my time in academia, I published 40+ papers and chapters, plus three books. You can check out my Google Scholar Profile here. I’ve been interviewed recently for features in Nature, The Times, The Sunday Telegraph, The Psychology Monitor and BBC News, as well as for career development podcasts.

And you ask, ‘What if I fall?’
Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?’

Coaching Testimonials
Although I had already been freelancing around my PhD, Naomi really helped me make the transition from academia to setting up my own full time research business. She provided me with invaluable support, expertise and genuine encouragement, as well as enjoyable and useful work opportunities. She's truly a warm, caring and knowledgeable mentor who can offer brilliant expertise for anyone wanting to move away from academia.
Dr Laurie Dempsey, All Things Qual
Naomi provided a great session that gave me the support and encouragement to think confidently about transitioning out of academia. I cannot recommend Naomi enough as a mentor, she is extremely supportive and knowledgeable, and she understands how to draw out a person’s transferable skills from their academic careers to date. Naomi provided many resources that have helped me navigate the various opportunities that might be available to me in my field of expertise. Transitioning out of academia can be a lonely and isolating experience because of the difficulty that is often felt in terms of talking to friends and colleagues who remain in the institution. Naomi offered essential support in this regard and opened a fresh and inviting window onto life beyond the University.

I'm buzzing right now! Had a fantastic session with Naomi and so many ideas are flowing - I can't wait to move forward on them! If you are unsure about what you want to do next I would definitely recommend booking a chat with Naomi!
Dr Ronie Walters
Naomi's coaching has been insightful and so very helpful. I often feel alone as an early career academic trying to understand the publication process. She has been warm and sympathetic and it helped me move past a lot of trauma experienced during the PhD. She validated my experience which I needed. Her coaching has helped me to cut off invalidating people that were holding me back in my career.

Naomi's coaching has helped me so much! It's incredibly useful to have some time and space to think about who I am and where I'm going with my career. Naomi takes time to get to know the real 'you' and understands the multitude of dilemmas being faced on a daily basis. She offers comfort, support and recognition. I always come away from sessions with a fresh perspective and spring in my step :)

Naomi is a great coach & mentor. She asks the right questions and helps you look at yourself and your achievements from a different angle. In providing guidance, she takes into consideration your overall circumstances. I've found talking with Naomi about my ideas as well as doubts very helpful, and highly recommend working with her if you need some advice on next steps in your career or just to bounce some ideas around!

Naomi was great at identifying the barriers that were holding me back. Her supportive attitude helped me to recognize the control I had over my own narrative and that I was deserving of a career that matched what I had achieved.
